Scenic Byway Community Announcements and NewsA Community Tourism Services Update of the Scenic Byways Website The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) is contacting you as a stakeholder along the Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway, Central Adirondack Trail Scenic Byway and/or Olympic Trail Scenic Byway as we move forward in preparing the new regional Byways website. With this email we are asking your assistance in making our first rollout of the website as complete as possible. Through an electronic survey we are asking for your input in a Community Tourism Services Update. We are calling on you to help us market the “best-of-the-best” about your community. We ask you to assist by filling out the survey to provide the information that we will post about your community. ANCA will support communities all along the 140-mile Byway route in telling their stories to Internet users and will help you to better connect with the thousands of Internet users who will visit the Adirondack Scenic Byways website to explore new travel destinations. Our goal is to introduce the Byway communities to the ever-growing travel market that use the web (73%) when making travel plans. Each Byway community will have a webpage on the Scenic Byways website that provides an overview of the community as well as comprehensive information about the public and nonprofit attractions, events, and activities that can be found there. A brief overview of the community’s tourist businesses and services will also be provided. The project is intended to compliment the efforts of Chambers of Commerce, tourism offices, or visitor centers and will not duplicate their marketing of business and commercial interests. The online survey will help us gather information in the same format from each of the communities located on any of the Scenic Byways. The link below will take you to the survey. You will need to complete it in one sitting and it should take less than 15 minutes of your time. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=jbXMxSAkY9LsUyydfqHhYg_3d_3d The survey will help ANCA update the data collected several years ago in the Central Adirondack Trail Corridor Management Plan and will help us to accurately profile every community along the Byway routes as there may be additional information we missed for specific communities. The information will help the website draw attention to the many Byway communities that are such an integral part of the traveler’s experience in our region. We appreciate your taking time to complete this Community Tourism Services Update for the Byway community you are most familiar with, or, for passing the link on to someone you think might be qualified to respond. We will use information from multiple sources if more than one questionnaire is completed for a community. Our goal is to tell visitors about your community and the story we tell begins with you. Thanks again for your support. The Adirondack North Country Association is committed to economically viable communities and a rural quality of life.
