Marketing Workshop for Gift Shop and Studio Owners

May 1, 2008 - On May 15th, in Glens Falls, The Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC) and the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) will be offering a workshop for gift shop and studio owners. The workshop identifies how to drive traffic to shops and studios and how to entice potential customers to come in.

The 2 hour workshop, scheduled for 5 to 7 pm at LARAC, 7 Lapham Place, Glens Falls, begins with a review of best marketing practices gleaned from gift shops and studios across the Adirondack North Country region. To help owners look at their shop fronts with fresh eyes, the second half of the workshop will be devoted to actual critiques of three downtown Glens Falls businesses; Sterling & Co., The May Gallery and LARAC.

Comments from previous workshop participants have ranged from "very informative about marketing yourself and your business" to "liked learning about what successful retailers were doing". The workshop presenter, Nadia Korths, crafts program coordinator for ANCA since 1997, facilitates lively and informal hands-on workshops. Registration fee is $20 for LARAC and ANCA members, $30 for nonmembers. Contact LARAC: 518.798.1144 ext.2 or gallery@larac.org.

Headquartered in Saranac Lake, New York, the Adirondack North Country Association is committed to economically viable communities and a rural quality of life. For more information, visit ANCA’s craft website www.AdkNCcrafts.com
