New York State’s Adirondack North Country Scenic Byways highlight one of the most beautiful regions of the world. From Lake Champlain on the east, to our southern border on the Mohawk River, to Lake Ontario on the west, to the northern border with Canada, the fourteen-county ANCA region offers residents and visitors alike a unique travel experience.

Adirondack North Country Region MapThe Adirondack North Country Region Map and Scenic Byways & Birding Guide is a cornerstone of ANCA's tourism promotion efforts and highlights one of the most beautiful regions in the world. The trifold, full-color 35x22" map identifies and describes more than 100 bird viewing sites, 14 Scenic Byways, and, on the other side, another large map of the region's state and county roads. Many sites of interest to visitors such as Adirondack Great Camps, ferries, lighthouses, and scenic railroads are represented with symbol keys as are activity sites such as boat and canoe launches, campgrounds, and mountain bike centers. Available for $2.

Art, Crafts and Foods Along the Scenic Byways of the Adirondack North Country An annual publication of self guided driving tours along 14 Scenic Byways to more than 50 shops and studios which feature regionally made art, crafts, and foods. Photos, directions and descriptions of each of the shops and studios. Published since 1987. Included in ANCA's Driving Tour Packet with The Adirondack North Country Regional Map.

The North Country Pasture Raised Meat Directory


Pasture Raised Meat Directory Provide healthy food for your family while supporting local farms. The directory lists local farms in the northern ANCA region that raise their animals predominantly on pasture and sell for freezer trade. The recipes and local farm list is only available online.

Originally published for exhibitors participating in ANCA's wholesale show Buyer Days and the pre-show How to Establish and Maintain Wholesale Accounts Workshop. Topics include pricing, pre-show preparations, jury process, booth design, typical payment terms between craftsperson and shop, the etiquette of retailing and wholesaling in the same region, trade show procedure and expectations, paperwork needed for show and shops including samples of order forms, price lists and terms. 45 pages.

Marketing Toolkit for Studio and Gift Shop Owners in Rural Areas Packet

The Marketing Toolkit for Studio and Gift Shop Owners in Rural Areas Packet provides a summary of best marketing practices to enable gift shop and studio businesses to benefit from the country’s growing heritage tourism.
In late 2004 and early 2005 the Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) interviewed twelve successful businesses who sell product made in the region. Gift shop and studio owners have shown great interest in reviewing the Marketing Toolkit which summarizes the best marketing practices of other similar businesses. The one hundred and fifty-eight who participated in the series of 17 workshops in 2005-06 enjoyed the combination of toolkit review followed by an on-site shop critique. 45 pages.

Workshop Partnerships

The Adirondack North Country Association has partnered with, among others, the Shops at 25 West, Little Falls; Adirondack Regional and Greenwich Chamber of Commerces of Glens Falls and Greenwich, City of Oswego Community Development Office, the SBDCs of Watertown and Plattsburgh, NY; WEBC/Comlinks of Malone, NY and WREN of Bethlehem, NH, to provide workshops. Your chamber or art organization may be interested in presenting The Marketing Tool Kit for Gift Shop and Studio Owners in Rural Areas Workshop and/or other workshops for craft/food producers and studio/shopowners.
