For employees, a good time to own a lumber yard

ELIZABETHTOWN | Jay Ward came to the Essex County Supervisors meeting to
talk about business transition and wound up talking about the price of
two-by-fours.

Ward Lumber, with stores in Jay and Malone, became the first employee-owned
co-op in the North Country this year, which helps guarantee the viability
of a business that has been in the family for four generations.
