In 2020 and 2021, ANCA and Clarkson University, in partnership with the Center for Businesses in Transition, provided support services to meet  the immediate need of small businesses facing COVID-related challenges.

The e-commerce program added value to local businesses in transition, like Circle Court Motel in Ticonderoga. Jerry and Barb Greer, who have since transitioned their business to new owners, invested time and effort in developing the value of their business through this initiative, even as they were seeking buyers and preparing for retirement.

“We are extremely excited about our new website,” said Barb Greer, who worked with Nicole Ouellette of Breaking Even Communications to improve the motel’s online presence. “The appearance and ease of use will definitely enhance our business in these trying times. We are most appreciative to Nicole, ANCA and Clarkson for providing this service.”

The Greers said the program not only helped them through this COVID-19 crisis but also increased the value of their business to make their transition to new owners easier. The new Circle Court Motel website can be viewed at www.circlecourtmotel.com.

Five other websites that launched through the program: McLane Power Equipment in Plattsburgh (mclanepower.com),Bookburgh Books in Plattsburgh (bookburghbooks.com), Chicken Fried Quilter in Burke (chickenfriedquilter.com), Underwood Herbs in Plattsburgh (underwoodherbs.com), and Snipe Clan Botanicals in Hogansburg (snipeclanbotanicals.com)
