The entire North Country region has been getting some lovely snow this winter, but nowhere else like Tug Hill. The town of Redfield in Oswego County is currently the snowiest spot in the country, reaching 300 inches of snow during this week's snow storm.
That's 25 feet of snow!
"Tug Hill has a reputation for getting lots of lake effect snow, and this year we are really living up to that reputation," said Katie Malinowski, Executive Director of Tug Hill Commission and ANCA board member.
"It's a boon for the local winter economy. Snowmobilers, skiers and people who work in hospitality and other support businesses are loving all this snow. A special thanks to the local highway crews and volunteer groomers for their extra effort keeping the roads open and trails ready for people to enjoy."
