SARANAC LAKE — The Hotel Saranac wrapped up a four-year energy-saving project by installing electric vehicle charging station.
The charging station, located in the hotel’s above-ground parking lot, is free to the public and can accommodate two electric vehicles of any make or model.
The larger project also includes high-efficiency windows, low-flow faucets and air sealing throughout the nearly century-old building. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s Cleaner Greener Communities program supported the project, coordinated by the Adirondack North Country Association and Essex County. These projects are in alignment with state programs meant to put New York on a path to a carbon-neutral economy.
