ANCA Annual Meeting Celebrates Community Leaders
July 26 meeting will convene regional nonprofit’s members and partners at Fort Ticonderoga

Ticonderoga, N.Y. The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) invites North Country community members, business owners and employees, nonprofit professionals, and others to gather at Fort Ticonderoga for the regional economic development nonprofit’s 2024 Annual Meeting on Friday, July 26. Members of ANCA’s staff and board will share organization updates and stories from their work across the region, and celebrate community leaders who are working to build a strong, resilient and inclusive regional economy.

The meeting will take place at Fort Ticonderoga in Ticonderoga, N.Y. on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Registration includes the meeting, welcome coffee and pastries, and a general admission ticket to Fort Ticonderoga for the entire day. All are welcome to attend.

“This year’s annual meeting is designed to be a celebration,” said ANCA Executive Director Elizabeth Cooper. “We are nearing the end of our current five-year strategic plan, which was drafted before major events like the COVID pandemic and worldwide racial justice movement changed our lives and the way ANCA works. We look forward to celebrating the innovation North Country communities have demonstrated during this time, and inviting the ANCA community to be a part of our next steps.”

Annual meeting organizer and ANCA Interim Deputy Director Zach Hobbs said the gathering serves as a way to celebrate achievements of the current plan while acknowledging challenges and new opportunities since it was published in 2020. He said meeting attendees will be invited to engage in key research questions that will inform future community outreach and ANCA’s next strategic plan.

“ANCA’s mission-driven programs and partnerships are guided by our current strategic plan and designed to address both long-term and emerging challenges and opportunities,” said Hobbs. “Our annual meeting is the perfect chance to wrap up our current plan with stories of our community-driven impact while engaging our peers, partners and friends in first steps to creating a responsive new plan.”

ANCA will resume a past annual meeting tradition of honoring community members who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in ANCA’s four key areas of focus: small businesses, local food systems, clean energy, and diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). Awardees will be selected from a list of individuals and groups nominated by ANCA staff, board, partners and constituents.

ANCA’s 2024 Annual Meeting will take place at Fort Ticonderoga at 102 Fort Ti Road, Ticonderoga, N.Y. on Friday, July 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The $40 registration fee includes meeting activities and an entry ticket to Fort Ticonderoga. Participants who feel the cost is a barrier to attending are invited to enter a discount code and an amount of their choosing. Registration is open at www.adirondack.org/annual-meeting-24
