A lot of food ends up in landfills every year. To reduce that waste here in the North Country, there are two ‘Food Waste Reduction’ workshops going on this week in the Adirondacks.
Lake Placid’s workshop will be at Lake Placid Pub and Brewery on Monday, October 30, and Plattsburgh’s will be held at St. Joseph’s Outreach Center food pantry, on Thursday, November 2. Both run from 5:30pm. You can find more details here.
At the free workshops, organizers will be talking about strategies like composting, recycling, and donation. Jennifer Perry is a cofounder of Compost for Good, a local composting initiative, and she says the workshops are for anyone interested in reducing food waste.
