A lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, John joined ANCA in 2024 as a way to more directly support the village and area that he loves. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2022 with a B.A. in physics and a B.A. and M.A. in mathematics. After learning and presenting a year-long seminar in abstract algebra to finish off his master’s degree, he stepped away from pure math to work for ANCA, helping with finances and technical support. He is happy to be applying the analytical thinking he learned in college to the real world.
Outside of ANCA, John also works at Nori’s Village Market in Saranac Lake. In his free time, he enjoys collecting and processing weather data, making spreadsheets, and playing cards and other games with friends.
